i. When I am looking for recipes online, such as for cakes or pies, I do not, in fact, want a recipe that includes, say, "1 8-ounce package of cake mix" or "1 pre-packaged pie crust". The whole point of looking for the recipes is so I can bake from scratch, yo.
ii. The difficult part about baking a cake from scratch is that I always want to stop at the creamed-butter-and-sugar part and eat the delicious, delicious sugary butter.
iii. I can has vanilla cake baking in the oven, making the flat smell lovely.

Kassie, I need to talk to you when you get up, re: Ashbury. | | Monday, May 11th, 2009 | | 12:45 pm |
Spent yesterday in bed.
Spending this afternoon in bed because fucked if I can get inspiration to do anything at all these days.
Wasn't I supposed to be better by now? | | Friday, May 8th, 2009 | | 7:16 am |
Job interview.
Must prod at RP things. Both very low-impact gamaes, ergo I Can Do This. Quitting was good for me for a couple months to let the meds settle and work out Things, but oh god I miss it.
(Death Eater? Potential Death Eater? Must ponder this. Miss my shades-of-grey evil.)
ILU all. Especially YOU. | | Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 | | 8:29 pm |
Carrah, am sorry but GDocs is being a dizzy whore.
Far too much discussion of cocks in tonight's Hunter game.
My character = The Goddamn Batman and Rorschach in one, apparently. Not sure how to feel about this. At least not Ozymandias, or would have Unexpected Penis to explain to cop boyfriend.
(Kawalski is Dan? Perhaps.) | | Friday, May 1st, 2009 | | 10:03 pm |
I r 50s housewife I has baked snickerdoodles and tomorrow I am making garlic and parmesan crumbed fish for lunch. And possibly ANZAC biscuits. | | 10:26 am |
What am i supposed to infer from my housemate sending me a link to a website for tops whose subs have major depressive disorders? | | Monday, April 27th, 2009 | | 3:06 am |
I have a sick. And, true to form, the first symptoms to show up are fever and the fever-dreams that come with it. Tonight's installment was a teenage girl running around Parramatta being lost and kind of pretty in a mildly Gothy way. See Prep Guy give her directions and flirt a bit. See her and Prep Guy fall off a rly high wall, and PG's dad-person deciding that Goth Girl is THE DEVIL for some reason and stalking her around the suburb WITH A FUCKING TREPANNING HAMMER.
And then she turned into electricity and escaped through the electric wires, and then PG, who had woken up from his falling-off-a-wall coma and was... not okay, but the dream was being very ~foreshadowy~ about how he was not okay, was trying to find her. Then she popped out of the wires and was stumbling around beind all disoriented because wtf she'd just been electricity, and she nearly tripped but he was ~magically there~ to steady her and go "it's okay, I'm here".
This was segueing in from the dream in which the boy and I were playing a sort of weird, interactive version of Alpha Centauri, wherein I turned Sister Miriam into a zombie somehow. | | Friday, April 24th, 2009 | | 8:36 am |
DID YOU KNOW THERE WAS A LES MISERABLES "SEQUEL" CALLED COSETTE?
It turns Marius into an adulterer! And Cosette has a friend who looks a whole lot like Javert whose name is VERJAT.
I SUSPECT THE WRITER OF THINKING THAT IT IS REALLY PRONOUNCED "JA-VERT" RATHER THAN "JAVAIR".
This is all Dymocks's fault for having it on their "please buy these books, nobody will so they are like fifty cents each" table.
(Published fanfiction whut. It is NOT by Victor Hugo. It is by... some French-sounding name that I do not remember because I was busy dying of laughter and scaring the nice girl behind the counter.)
(Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is delightful. Lydia is so much less annoying when she's killing "manky dreadfuls". Which is a phrase that reminds me of penny dreadfuls, and then I giggle.) | | 6:19 am |
So, yesterday I fainted on the escalator in Parramatta Westfield. Today, I have a twisted knee, a hairline fracture in my rib, and am rather sore, but shall be fine.
I also have the benefits of a minor shopping spree: new pajamas for the cooler weather, a quilt-and-pillowcases set that is gorgeous, a USB hub for my computer, and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. | | Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 | | 3:13 am |
This is Kati's fault. Clips of PBs! Mostly old ones, as I am Between Games right now. Moody (John Glover): clip from him on Frasier. Fighty clip from Smallville. And then him being a bastard, as per usual, on Smallville. (Yes, I do like Lionel Luthor too much.) Antonin (Mark Harmon) : clip from NCIS. He sounds nothing like Antonin and is too tall, but whatever. Aaron (Simon Baker): clip from Not Forgotten, which I have not seen. Cleaner than Aaron usually was, since I can't find any clips from Land of the Dead. Sturgis (Tim Minchin): many, many clips on YouTube for this. (That second link is rather, er, NSFW.) Also this, which is beautiful. | | 1:16 am |
*cuddles and loves and licks her government money*
I can has bras that fit! And I'm not allowed to feel guilty for spending (some of) the money because that is what it is for! | | Sunday, April 19th, 2009 | | 10:07 pm |
Last night, I had a horrible nightmare involving a giant spider. And then Spencer Reid saved me from it by explaining that there was no way a spider-shaped body could get that big and still be able to support itself, thanks to the square-cube law. | | Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 | | 8:17 am |
Unrelated to previous spammage: good god I hate my calves.
Now, I am an overweight woman. This is something I have accepted and am working on fixing. BUT. My legs, they are ALL MUSCLE. You poke them and they do not do the movement-thing that fat does. My calves are TWENTY-ONE FUCKING INCHES AROUND OF MUSCLE.
This makes boots IMPOSSIBLE to find. | | 7:34 am |
Thomas compared Sam's penis to the Jarethbulge.
WTF have I written. | | 6:47 am |
Two pages and the most they've done is some nuzzling.
WHAT THE HELL, BOYS. | | 1:40 am |
Damn it, I wanna write the first smut scene. >< Stupid gay therianthropes and vampires and nurses wanting their plot first.
Edit: And yup, it's being written. SO VERY OUT OF ORDER. | | Monday, April 13th, 2009 | | 10:44 am |
Too annoyed for proper html. Amazon.com is full of fail, and has stripped the sales ranks from non-fiction books dealing with GLBT issues (including pregnancy books catering to lesbian couples), from fiction books that have GLBT characters or themes ( Tipping the Velvet and a book whose sole sex scene is "and that night, they were not divided"), and from biographies of people such as Oscar Wilde and John Barrowman. It has done similar to some books with explicit heterosexual scenes, but not, say, the Anita Blake or Merry Gentry series. This, essentially, means that you cannot search for these books from the main page. A search for "homosexuality" now brings up A Parent's Guide to Preventing Homosexuality by Joseph Nicolosi and Linda Ames Nicolosi. This just in: Jackson Rathbone makes a rather pretty woman. I am jealous of his bone structure. |
